Caitlyn Fischer

CBA senior Caitlyn Fischer is studying marketing and management.

OMAHA – Caitlyn Fischer has been immersed in the world of real estate since April, and she’s loving every minute.

This senior business student from Elkhorn, Nebraska, is taking 18 credit hours and working at least 20 hours each week for realtor Jennifer Morgan and her team at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Ambassador Real Estate.

In other words, Fischer is (blissfully) busy.

“Waking up and doing what I love each day makes my life bliss,” she says.

Studying marketing and management, Fischer shares more about her fast-paced internship and real estate ambitions.

What are your job duties?

As an executive assistant, I juggle many tasks each day. Some of my jobs include sending monthly newsletters, assisting with contracts, delivering fliers to listings, meeting photographers at listings, sending follow-up emails during the escrow period, preparing files for listing presentations and initial buyer consultation packets, preparing statistics reports, managing social media, preparing comparative market analyses, scheduling home inspections and appraisals, attending client meetings, inputting listings into the MLS and more.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I love how each day at the office has a completely different agenda: new people, different properties and many obstacles to overcome. You never stop learning in this business of real estate.

When I first started I was very intimidated about all the knowledge that is required, but I love to learn and my job provides an immense amount of information that I benefit from daily. I am extremely grateful to have a boss like Jennifer Morgan, who mentors me day-to-day and supports me to achieve my goals.

How does your job relate to your coursework in CBA?

The courses at UNO have helped me with time management, accounting and marketing. Every day I am on social media using my business communication skills, which I directly learned from CBA.

What are your career goals? How is CBA helping you achieve them?

My career goals currently are to get my real estate license and become my own boss. I will be able to manage how much money I need to make each year and be able to work from home on my own schedule. Overall, though, I will always strive to achieve more than my set goals.

UNO has helped me achieve these goals through offering strong business and communication classes. If I didn’t have good communication skills, I know for a fact that my present goals would not have been possible without CBA.

What are you doing for fun this summer?

I don’t know if you would call it “fun,” but I am currently taking on six courses (18 credit hours) at CBA.
