The Maverick Store is the University of Nebraska at Omaha's official campus store & Maverick spirit headquarters!

Located on the first floor of the Milo Bail Student Center, The Maverick Store provides goods and services students need for their life as a Maverick — inside and outside of the classroom.

We carry a large selection of new and used textbooks, supplies and technology, UNO apparel, gifts and more.

Textbook Ordering FAQ

How do I find and order my course materials?

Log in to MavLINK, select your term, and click View All Books to see the materials assigned to your courses. Be sure to review any course notes and material designations:

  • Required – Needed for the course.
  • Required Package – Includes multiple items, such as a textbook and access code.
  • Recommended – Optional material suggested by the instructor.
  • No Course Materials Required – No purchase is needed.
  • Selection Pending – Course material information has not yet been received.

Choose your preferred format, add items to your cart, and complete checkout. You can select free in-store pickup or have your order shipped.

What textbook options are available?

Depending on the course, materials may be available as:

  • Rental
  • Used
  • New
  • Digital/eBook

Used books are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed. The earlier you order, the better your chances of receiving a used copy.

How do rentals, returns, and buyback work?

Rentals

  • Save up to 60% compared to new textbooks.
  • May be highlighted and written in.
  • Must be returned by the last day of finals.
  • Require a valid credit or debit card to be kept on file.

Returns

  • Books may be returned during the first week of classes with a receipt and in original condition.
  • If you drop a class, returns are accepted through the add/drop deadline with proof of course withdrawal.

Buyback

  • Eligible textbooks can be sold back at the end of the semester.
  • Buyback value depends on course adoption, market demand, and condition.

What is First Day?

First Day provides digital course materials through Canvas at a discounted rate chosen by your instructor.

  • Materials are delivered directly in Canvas.
  • Participation is optional.
  • Charges are applied to your student account after the opt-out period ends.
  • Students who opt out are responsible for obtaining their own course materials.

Courses participating in First Day are identified on the bookstore website.

How do I pay for my order?

We accept:

  • Credit and debit cards
  • Gift cards
  • Student account charging (when eligible)
  • Cash (in store)

Online orders require a credit or debit card. Rental textbooks require a valid credit or debit card on file.

Important: You will not be charged when you place your order. Payment is processed when bookstore staff fill and process your order. You will receive email updates throughout the process, including notification when your order is ready for pickup or has shipped.

 


How to Order Textbooks Online

Step 1: Access Your Course Materials

Log in to MavLINK, select your term, and click View All Books. This will display the required and recommended materials for your enrolled courses.

Be sure to review any course notes and material designations before making your selections.

Step 2: Select Your Textbook Format

Choose the format that best fits your needs:

  • Rental
  • Used
  • New
  • Digital/eBook

Please note that used books are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed.

Step 3: Add Materials to Your Cart

Review the materials for each course and add your selections to your cart. Once you've finished shopping, review your order summary and proceed to checkout.

Step 4: Choose Pickup or Shipping

Select your preferred delivery method:

In-Store Pickup (Free)

  • Receive an email when your order is ready.
  • Bring your pickup barcode to the Maverick Store.

Shipping

  • Shipping charges will apply.
  • Tracking information will be provided once your order ships.

Step 5: Select Payment Method

Choose your payment method and complete checkout.

Accepted payment options include:

  • Credit/debit cards
  • Gift cards
  • Student account charging (when eligible)

If your gift card or financial aid does not cover the full amount, please provide a credit card to avoid processing delays.

Step 6: Review and Place Your Order

Review your order details and submit your order. You will receive a confirmation email immediately after your order is placed.

As your order is processed, additional email updates will be sent, including notification when your order is ready for pickup or has shipped.

Important Things to Know

  • Course materials are matched to your class schedule to help ensure you receive the correct books.
  • Used books are limited and may be substituted with a new copy if unavailable.
  • Rental textbooks require a valid credit or debit card on file.
  • You will not be charged when you place your order. Payment is processed when bookstore staff fill and process your order.
  • Orders are processed in the order they are received, so ordering early is recommended.
