The Challenge
Graduating CBA seniors are placed in the role of a consulting firm and asked to digest a complex business problem, develop a creative and practical solution, and build a presentation that communicates their analyses and recommendations to a panel of judges comprised of faculty, business community members, and alumni. Students are placed in interdisciplinary teams and have four weeks to develop their recommendations.
Beginning in fall of 2021, the first round of competition took place as a poster competition (similar to a science fair). Teams design research posters that effectively display their research, analyses, and recommendations as they verbally present their findings to a series of judges. The top five teams from round one have another four weeks to refine their recommendations before competing in the finals round, which is a standard slide deck presentation.
