The UNO Academic and Career Development Center (ACDC) facilitates academic and career success and career development with resources and services for academic and career exploration.

Academic Learning Communities

An Academic Learning Community (ALC) is a group of students who learn together. Students take coursework together, participate in projects with one another, and work to build learning in a particular area. Academic Learning Communities provide a built-in support network that can assist students in being academically successful.

Accessibility Services Center

The Accessibility Services Center (ASC) collaborates with students, administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure that we provide reasonable and appropriate accommodations for our students with disabilities. The office provides a full range of campus support services to ensure the success of our students.

Campus Recreation

The mission of Campus Recreation is to enhance the UNO community's quality of life through participation in fun, diverse recreational and leisure opportunities. Campus Recreation's staff, programs and facilities are recognized locally, regionally, and nationally as leaders in the leisure and recreational sports profession.

Campus Testing Services

The Testing Center provides high-quality testing services to UNO students, faculty, staff, and the metropolitan Omaha region with exceptional customer service in a secure environment that supports academic success.

The Office of Civic and Social Responsibility is dedicated to developing students as engaged community citizens and leaders of our community through diverse service opportunities that create positive social change and build and strengthen our community.

Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides programs and services on campus that assist students in maximizing their potential while at UNO. Counseling services are confidential and all conducted by Licensed Mental Health Practitioners and graduate students.

Criss Library

The Dr. C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Library serves as the primary source of academic information for the university community through its collections, academic and reference services, innovative and modern technology, exhibit and event programming, and modern physical facilities. The library's mission is to create physical and virtual environments that foster the university's goals for teaching, learning, and research.

The mission of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center is to foster and promote equity, access, and inclusion for all genders and sexualities through education, resources, advocacy, and activism.

Health Services

UNO Health Services provides state-of-the-art medical services that are culturally sensitive and patient-focused to the UNO community. Health Services offers on-campus appointments with Board Certified Professionals for UNO students, faculty, and staff.

Honors Program

The University Honors Program is an academic learning community. The mission of the Honors Program is to provide an enhanced and supportive learning environment responsive to the educational needs of highly able and/or exceptionally motivated undergraduate students.

Math-Science Learning Center

The Math-Science Learning Center (MSLC) is a place where UNO students can find the assistance they need to conquer academic challenges in Math and Science. Model students serve as tutors, supplemental instruction leaders, and study group facilitators trained to assist their peers in achieving academic success. The MSLC houses meeting alcoves, study/tutoring space, tutorial computers, and reserved study materials. It also offers academic consultation for students seeking to increase their overall learning effectiveness and efficiency.

The Military-Connected Resource Center focuses on academic achievement, career attainment, financial health, and overall physical and mental wellness. Being a military, veteran, or dependent student at UNO is more than earning a degree, it’s supporting your future.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs is responsible for developing and maintaining programs and services to ensure the successful recruitment, retention, and graduation of underrepresented students on our campus.

Ombuds Services

The Ombuds staff assists students, faculty, and staff members with informal conflict resolution and problem-solving, navigating difficult situations, and advocacy for fair processes and fair treatment. If you have a concern, the university Ombuds are here to help.

Speech Center

The Speech Center offers customized, personalized, support to help students, faculty, and staff members create, improve, practice, and enhance presentations and overall skill as speakers. Whether you are new to writing and presenting effective speeches or are an experienced public speaker, the consultants in the Speech Center offer resources that can help you to achieve greater success.

Writing Center

The Writing Center's primary mission is to provide a place for writers to talk with each other about their projects. Appointments with a trained writing consultant are available, during which time we will answer questions, provide feedback, and coach you through any stage of your writing process from brainstorming to final editing.
