Savannah Czolgos, administrative associate for the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences' dean's office, has been named UNO's Employee of the Month for December 2020.

Czolgos was surprised by UNO's virtual Celebration Committee on Monday, Dec. 14.

In her nomination, Czolgos was celebrated for going above and beyond the call of duty multiple times over the past year, not the least of which was support of an ailing colleague.

"Although everyone in our Dean's suite helped our colleague in different ways, Savannah took the lead because she is a natural caretaker and she is quick to accept tasks when it is clear they simply need to be done," her nomination letter reads.

Additionally, Czolgos stepped up during COVID, as well, opting to be physically in the office to ensure that all mail, phones, and other communications could be routed properly. She also played a key role in the plannng for Fall 2020.

"Savannah also worked to calculate room capacities, measured seating distances, moved furniture, hung signs, participated in numerous planning walk-throughs, and assured faculty they had the PPE they deemed necessary to deliver courses," her nominators wrote.

As one of the longest-serving staff members in the CEHHS Dean's Office, her colleagues also said that she is always willing to use tasks as an ability to learn new skills and proficiencies. She is also often the first face students, faculty, staff, and guests see when they have problems or concerns, handling each visitor with a "positive, outgoing, and helpful demeanor."

"She is truly a cornerstone for our office staff, CEHHS faculty, and administration."

For being nominated as Employee of the Month, Czolgos will receive a certificate, hot/cold tumbler, monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event and use of a designated parking space.

To nominate an employee, complete the nomination form and send it to Kristina Hoffmann at kristinahoffmann@unomaha.edu.
