Total headcount: 6,600 students, up 5.8% from last year.

Total student credit hours: Up 7.1% from last year.
-
Undergraduate headcount: 4,667 students, up 5.6% from last year
🎤 What they’re saying:
-
UNO Chancellor Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA: “This growth shows the extraordinary commitment of our faculty and staff to student success. It also reflects the drive of our Maverick students to stay on track and double down on the investment they’ve made in their future. We are building momentum in student performance and creating a vibrant campus environment year-round that our entire community can be proud of.”
-
Jason Browning, Ph.D., MBA, Vice Chancellor for Institutional Effectiveness and Student Success: “The popular belief is universities take a break or slow down over the summer, but the reality is that our students don't. Increases in enrollment and credit hours tell us we are delivering our promise to deliver meaningful and impactful learning experiences year-round. I am incredibly thankful to our faculty and staff for making this possible.”
⚡️ What’s next: The first day of Fall 2025 classes is Aug. 25 and coincides with Durango Days Aug. 23-31, UNO’s official welcome week.
