Find Volunteer Opportunities

UNO's Signature Service Days and Events

Each year, UNO organizes and sponsors a set of major events that involve UNO students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Community partners can request to participate in these events, while the campus can get involved as volunteers through the different dates.

Here is a list of UNO's Signature Service Days:

  • MLK Jr. Day of Service (Monday, January 16, 2023)
  • Seven Days of Service (Monday, March 13, 2023 through Friday, March 17, 2023)
  • Earth Day of Service: Earth is our Home, Handle with Care (April 2023)
  • International AIDS Day of Service (TBD)

60 Minutes of Service

These one-time volunteer opportunities support local nonprofit organizations for one hour at a time.

Upcoming 60 Minutes of Service:

  • Furthering Black History Through Service (February 22 and 28, 2023)
  • Plant a Seed of Service (April 2023 - date coming soon)
  • Self Care is Service (Wednesday, May 10, 2023)

Jess's Volunteer Resource Center

Jess’s Resource Center is a touch screen access point located in the UNO CEC’s Union Pacific Atrium, promoting volunteer and internship opportunities to UNO students. View posted opportunities.

Request and Promote Volunteer Needs

Community partners can request volunteer support through individual requests and/or requests to participate in one or more of the signature service days and events.

Promote Volunteer Needs on Jess's Volunteer Resource Center

Nonprofits may also submit volunteer needs for publication on Jess’s Volunteer Resource Center, a touch screen access point located in the UNO CEC’s Union Pacific Atrium. The touch screen provides another way for the campus to browse opportunities to volunteer.
