The Maverick community is mourning the loss of Derek Geschwender.
Geschwender began his more than 20-year UNO career as a student worker in 1997, eventually becoming the information systems specialist for the College of Business Administration.
Geschwender was 43-years-old at the time of his passing. The UNO flag will be lowered on Wednesday, Sept. 23, through sunset on Friday, Sept. 25, to honor Geschwender and members of the Maverick community who recently passed away.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 13. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 14.
