Efforts made by the NSSLHA Chapter at the University of Nebraska at Omaha helped National NSSLHA:
- Increase awareness of communication sciences and disorders (CSD) among state and federal legislators
- Provide scholarships to students in CSD programs by contributing to a donation of more than $10,000 to the ASHFoundation’s NSSLHA Scholarship
- Raise more than $15,250 to the 2017-2018 NSSLHA Loves campaign
- Support clients, students, and organizations in local communities across the nation
“During the 2017-2018 year, UNO NSSLHA/ Collegiate Sertoma expanded our efforts to help the Omaha community." says Rachel Culross, President of the 2017-18 UNO NSSLHA/Collegiate Sertoma Chapter.
"Our organization offered members over 180 volunteer opportunities to serve individuals with a variety of abilities; these are our future clients. By hosting our annual talent show, UNO’s Got Talent, we gathered the Omaha community together to raise money, and awareness, for the Autism Society of Nebraska. This was a huge accomplishment for our chapter.”
National NSSLHA Chapter Honors are awarded to affiliated NSSLHA chapters that demonstrate an outstanding effort to support National NSSLHA’s mission to inspire, empower, and support students in communication sciences and disorders programs.
