The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in memory of UNO retiree John Wanzenried.
John passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, and was 74 years old at the time of his death. An obituary was published in the Omaha World-Herald with service arrangements.
While at UNO, John worked to become Assistant Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences. John worked for UNO from February 1, 1966, until his retirement on September 1, 2007. John’s daughter Hanna Wanzenried-Solberg works at UNO in the College of Education as an advisor.
He is survived by his wife Lucy Wanzenried-Franks. Our thoughts and condolences are with John’s loved ones during this difficult time.
