The Omaha Mavericks compete against St. Thomas.

Omaha men's basketball will begin the 2025-26 season taking on Murray State as part of the Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon on Monday, Nov. 3, in Sioux Falls, S.D., it was announced Tuesday.

The season lid-lifter will take place at the Sanford Pentagon at 12:30 P.M. CT and stream live on the Field of 68's X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube platforms.

Omaha is 0-1 all-time against Murray State with the lone matchup taking place in 2013 on the road as part of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. The matchup against the Racers marks the head coaching debut for Murray State leader Ryan Miller, a South Dakota native.

The 2025-26 Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon features six men's basketball showcase games at two sites on Nov. 3 with three games being held at each venue. The Field of 68 Network's popular After Dark program will air live from the two locations.

Joining the defending Summit League regular-season and tournament champions in Sioux Falls will be Drake vs. Northern Arizona and South Dakota State vs. Merrimack. At the Rock Hill Sports & Entertainment Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Queens will face Winthrop, Bradley will battle St. Bonaventure, and High Point will face Furman.

In addition to Omaha, Drake and High Point participated in the 2025 iteration of March Madness. The Mavericks and Panthers both drew Providence, Rhode Island for a first and second round site.

Led by fourth-year head coach Chris Crutchfield, Omaha returns nine members of last season's NCAA tournament team and welcomes five newcomers (Julian Margrave, Rob Matos, Deng Mayar, Christian Richardson and Brock Scholl).

Tickets for the Sioux Falls slate will go on sale Sept. 5 via Ticketmaster.

2025-26 Omaha men's basketball season ticket memberships are available now at OMavs.com/Tickets or by calling the Baxter Arena box office at 402-554-MAVS.
