UNO Flag Lowering for Merzedes Hart
The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered Thursday, January 19, 2017, in memory of UNO student athlete Merzedes Hart.
Merzedes, 19, was a freshman member of the UNO Track and Field team. She passed away on Friday, Jan. 13. She is survived by her mother, step-father, father, four siblings, grandparents, great grandparents and friends.
Prior to enrolling at UNO, Merzedes was a highly-decorated athlete at Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs. She was a six-time state qualifier and graduated as the holder of five school records in sprints.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today
