Ryan Weiss, Director of Operations at Baxter Arena, recently was named UNO’s Employee of the Month for June.
The “Prize Patrol” team, consisting of Chancellor John Christensen, Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations Ann Oatman, and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Cecil Hicks, surprised Ryan with the news on Friday, June 3, 2016.
Ryan was nominated by his peers for his can-do attitude and outstanding ability to step up and manage operations at Baxter Arena no matter the challenge or occasion.
They said, “Ryan leads the boots-on-the-ground operations at Baxter Arena during on-ice and event days. He takes things in stride during what could be very stressful or tiring times.”

Ryan has contributed to the success of countless events at Baxter Arena, including President Barack Obama’s visit in January 2016.
