Awards.
To be eligible for the Employee of the Month award an employee must:
Recipients will receive a $100 award, a plaque, a reserved parking space for the month, a professional photograph with the Chancellor, a personal meeting with the Chancellor, and an opportunity to attend and be recognized at a Board of Regent's meeting.
The criteria for this award are:
Nominations will be kept on file for 90 days and will be considered with all nominations for Employee of the Month. Employees of the Month are selected by the SAC Activities Committee in consultation with Human Resources.
An Employee of the Month qualifies to be selected as Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Year is selected by the Chancellor.
To nominate an employee, print and complete the nomination form and send it through campus mail to P.O. Box 130.
Employee of the Year
The Employee of the Year is selected by the Chancellor from the twelve Employees of the Year in the previous calendar year (January - December). The announcement and award are made at the annual Faculty Senator/Staff Advisory Council banquet in May.
A UNO Spirit of Service Award recognizes outstanding Office/Service individuals who provide services that strengthen the community and improves the lives of others. In addition to exemplary performance of assigned job responsibilities, candidates shall demonstrate a commitment to the University of Nebraska at Omaha community through the expression of university values in such ways as helping students, furthering their own education and working towards advancement at the University of Nebraska at Omaha as shown, for example, by working on University committees, attending and/or participating in non-mandatory campus events, or being an effective ambassador for the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
The award will consist of a $1000 monetary gift.
Nomination forms will be available in January. The winner will be recognized at the Annual Faculty Senate and Staff Advisory Council Award banquet.
University Faculty and Staff are invited to submit nominations for the Recognition Award. All UNO Faculty, Managerial/Professional, and Office/Service staff members in good standing are eligible to be nominated on the basis of exemplary support to UNO staff members.
Nomination forms will be available during the spring semester. The winner will be recognized at the Annual Faculty Senate and Staff Advisory Council Award banquet.
