Meet new member Madeline Foreman of Arlington, Nebraska.

Why did you choose UNO?

The University of Nebraska Omaha, with one of the best Colleges of Business, was an obvious choice for me. There are many opportunities to get involved on campus that I am looking forward to. There are also many opportunities in the surrounding community. The school's strong tie to its community and the location in Omaha itself also drove me toward UNO.

Why did you choose business as a major?

I chose business as a major for several reasons, one being that it applies to numerous careers. Majoring in business teaches skills that are relevant in several different areas of one's life. These skills are also vital in a person's career. I believe majoring in business will help me be successful and reach my potential.

What business concentration are you planning to pursue? Why?

I am pursuing a concentration in Marketing because I want to help organizations promote themselves. Customers have a big role in any business. Finding and keeping loyal customers should be a priority. I am planning to pursue a concentration in Marketing so I can help organizations succeed and keep customers happy.

What aspect of the Scholars Academy are you most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to joining the Scholars Academy for many reasons, but I am most excited because of the people. I will be a part of a group of students similar to me. It will be nice having a support group like that, along with dedicated professors. I am also looking forward to getting to know business leaders in the Omaha area.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy being a part of my high school's choir. I've also played instruments in the past that I occasionally play now. I am always listening to music. I also enjoy going to concerts when I can.

What is one thing we would be surprised to know about you?

I like to babysit. I have many younger cousins that I spend a lot of time with. There are also many family friends that have young children. I enjoy babysitting occasionally through the school year and during the summer when I have more time.
