The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and United Airlines announced a new partnership to provide career pathways for aviators through Aviate, United’s industry-leading pilot career development program. As an Aviate university partner, former and current UNO students and instructors who apply and are successful in the Aviate selection process will join the program and benefit from the defined path to a lifelong career at United.

The "Only in Nebraska: A Campaign for Our University’s Future" campaign will create additional scholarships to help make education affordable, attract more students and keep them in Nebraska. It also will invest in programs such as learning communities which help retain students, provide mentorship and guidance and ensure their timely degree completion.

The Flying Mavs, had a unique opportunity when fourteen team members got to fly a Boeing 747-200 Level D Simulator. The device is run by CymSTAR, a contractor for the military that provides training to U.S. Air Force pilots who fly the Boeing E4B.

Anne Hobbs recently returned from the first of three visits to Singapore under a Flex Fulbright research project to study how religion, relationships, and resources impact prisoner reentry in Singapore. This is just the beginning of a bigger plan of what she hopes will become a broad community outreach project.

John Bartle, Ph.D., dean of the UNO College of Public Affairs and Community Service, was awarded the Aaron B. Wildavsky Award honoring his lifetime achievement for scholarly work in the field of public budgeting and financial management.
