One Nationally Ranked Program, Two Campuses

Our undergraduate degree program is offered on the University of Nebraska Omaha campus, University of Nebraska Lincoln campus, and online. Students actively collaborate to understand the causes and consequences of crime, the criminal justice system's response to crime, and develop innovative and effective solutions to enhancing community safety.

  • Research opportunities are available through the Victimology and Victim Studies Research Lab (VVSRL), Violence Intervention and Policing Research (VIPR) Lab, Nebraska Collaborative for Violence Intervention and Prevention (NeCVIP), Crime and Justice Public Opinion Lab (CJPOL), and affiliated research centers including the Nebraska Center for Justice Research, the Juvenile Justice Institute, and the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology and Education Center.

  • Internships are available to junior/senior undergraduates and master's students with local and federal criminal justice agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Secret Service, Omaha Police Department, Nebraska Probation Department, and the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Criminal justice community organizations also have internships available. Competitive opportunities for paid internships exist!

  • Gain international perspective through our London Study Abroad program.
  • Our bachelor's (#17), master's (#5), and doctoral degree (#13) programs are recognized as top-ranked criminology and criminal justice programs by the U.S. News and World Report.
