OMAHA – Service members and civilian workers at Offutt Air Force Base now have access to hundreds of thousands of books and research resources, all just a short drive away.
The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Dr. C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Library is pleased to announce a new program, offering free library services to all Offutt personnel.
The program includes borrowing privileges for all of UNO’s more than 700,000 print titles and 500,000 electronic titles; DVDs; CDs; and media equipment. Participants are also invited to take advantage of in-library features, such as the research help desk, laptop use, iPad use and computer labs with full access to more than 275 searchable databases.
“We are honored and proud that we can offer our military community access to these resources,” Dean of Library Services David Richards said. “I’m grateful for the hard work of all our staff in making this happen. We all hope Offutt personnel take advantage of the tremendous resources that Criss Library has to offer.”
The new program opens up checkout privileges to the roughly 10,000 service members and federal employees at Offutt.
Interested personnel will only need to visit Criss Library and contact a staff member at the circulation desk to create a new account and immediately enable borrowing privileges. Applicants will be asked to present a base ID.
