Global Course Partners

UNO Education Abroad has partners in regions around the world to support immersive, educational programming.

There are many reasons to partner with a local organization. Some of the top benefits include regional expertise and local connections, logisticial coordination, streamlined budgeting and billing, and support throughout both the planning phase and on-site in country.

Our partners offer varying levels of support based on the needs of the program. This can be as simple as booking a few local hotels and travel arrangements to a full program itinerary with accompanying group leader from start to finish. Our partners know their region well and in addition to the finer details of trip logistics they are able to compliment the course with local academic and cultural activities. Many also are available on call, 24/7, to assist with itinerary disruptions and emergency situations. That is great news! Having your own connections does not prevent you from working with one of our local partner organizations. Many program leaders have academic, business, or community connections they want to tie into their Global Course. Our partners can leave blocks in the itinerary for those activities, while still working with you to arrange transportation to those sites and/or including ticket or other costs into the budget.

Many times the answer to this question is 'yes'. When seeking to work with a partner that is new to UNO Education Abroad, we ask that you introduce us to your contacts. From there, our team will schedule an initial meeting with the organization to learn more about their structure, services, and to do other reference checks required by the university. Pending a successful meeting and review of the organization, we can begin working together with them on your Global Course.

If you are looking for a partner in a specific country or that can deliver programming on a specific theme, please reach out to UNO Education Abroad. We can help identify a best-fit organization from our many years of past programming, our international exchange institutions, our connections through organizations like NAFSA, and through our relationships with other U.S. study abroad offices. The world and all our connections are too big for one webpage!

BSB: Burgundy School of Business

Burgundy School of Business is a partner institution in Dijon, France with a short-term programs team to support Global Courses throughout their region.

CIAM coordinates Spanish language leaning, community service, and local immersion in Spain.

CIEE is a study abroad provider coordinating programs at their study sites worldwide.

EPI: Ecology Project International

EPI works with local partners for ecology and conservation focused courses.

Forocio: Frank Altenbockum

Forocio is a European travel company that creates custom arrangements for group travel. UNO works with our contact Frank at Forocio to supplement Global Courses for lodging, transportation, entry tickets, or other items as needed.

Past Programs: Forocio has been behind the scenes as a partner for various past programs. Frank is our go-to contact for a la carte support in Europe.

GEI: Global Engagement Institute

GEI operates in Africa and Southeast Asia specializing in programs focused on health, mental health, engineering, sustainable development, entrepreneurship and social innovation.

Past Programs: Adaptive Physical Education in South Africa and Lesotho (2020). Cancelled due to pandemic. Annual programming with UNL.
