Depositing money onto a MavCARD creates a prepaid declining balance account, functioning similarly to a debit card.
There are several ways to add MavMONEY to a MavCARD. Funds can be deposited through the GET Mobile app, in person at the MavCARD Services Office, or at select Cash-to-Card stations across campus.
Once added, MavMONEY is available for purchases at participating locations on campus and at select off-campus businesses.

Funds can also be deposited onto a MavCARD account online using a credit card through MavCARD GET Online. Additional features include:

Important: The old MavCARD Mobile app is no longer functional and should be deleted.

Cash-to-Card Service Ending
Beginning Monday, May 10, 2027, MavCARD Cash-to-Card stations across campus will be retired and will no longer be available.
While this service is ending, MavMONEY can still be added to a MavCARD using either of the following options:
- Visit the Milo Bail Student Center, Room 216, to add MavMONEY in person.
- Add MavMONEY anytime through the GET Mobile App (available on Android and iOS)
We understand that this is a change and appreciate your understanding as we transition away from Cash-to-Card stations.

What is MavMONEY?
MavMONEY is a prepaid spending account connected to the MavCARD. It can be used for purchases at participating locations on campus and at select off-campus businesses.

Is there a minimum amount required to add MavMONEY?
No. There is no minimum deposit or MavMONEY plan required. Funds can be added as needed.
Does MavMONEY expire?
MavMONEY remains availaible with continued MavCARD activity. Accounts with no activity for a period of two (2) years will be deemed inactive, and the balance forfeited to the University.
What is the difference between MavMONEY and Dining Dollars?
MavMONEY and Dining Dollars are separate accounts on the MavCARD.
- MavMONEY can be used for a variety of purchases at participating locations, including dining, vending, printing, The Maverick Store, and more.
- Dining Dollars are specifically for food and beverage purchases at participating UNO Dining Services locations and have separate eligibility, rollover, expiration, and purchasing rules.

Can MavMONEY be transferred to another MavCARD?
No. MavMONEY cannot be transferred from one MavCARD account to another.
Can MavMONEY be used to pay tuition or other student account charges?
No. MavMONEY cannot be applied toward tuition or other charges on a student account.
Are purchases made with MavMONEY subject to sales tax?
Yes. Applicable sales tax is charged when MavMONEY is used to make a purchase.
What happens if a check or credit card deposit is returned?
Cardholders are responsible for deposits made by check or credit card that are later returned or rejected.
A $30 fee is assessed for each returned check. The University may also place a hold on the MavCARD account following a returned or rejected deposit.
