New Student Checklist

Use this checklist to stay organized as you complete key tasks for starting at UNO. These steps help you set up your accounts, access campus tools, and prepare for your first semester.

Set up your NUID and NetID through TrueYou to access your student accounts and online systems. If you need assistance while setting up your accounts, reach out to the MavTECH Help Center.

Duo is a two-factor authentication app that you will need to login to your accounts. Visit the University of Nebraska System online knowledge base for setup instructions.  

MavLINK is UNO’s student information system and it’s where you’ll find specific tasks for enrollment and financial information. To access your MavLINK account, you’ll need your NUID.

Bookmark my.unomaha.edu where you’ll find some of the most frequently visited pages on our website such as MavLINK, UNO email, and Canvas. Plus, you can explore other online services offered to UNO students.

Finish your specific orientation course through MavLINK to unlock advising and course selection.

Schedule an advising session to choose classes, review your plan of study, and lift any registration holds.

Your MavCARD is your official UNO ID Card. You can get your MavCARD online or in person once you’ve enrolled in at least one (1) class. MavCARD Services is located in the Milo Bail Student Center, 2nd floor, Room 216 and open Monday-Friday from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
