Breakout Rooms

Mammel Hall breakout room locations: 155, 157, 214, 214 A–C, 318 B–E

General information:

  • Each room includes a Windows computer, flat panel display, and camera/mic/speaker combo for Zoom.
  • Instructions are located in the rooms with information on how to connect your computer to the screen.
  • Use your MavCard to access the room during scheduled building hours. If you also have a UNMC association see us in MH 217 for access.
  • A reservation is not required but is recommended if you want to reserve a room. You must leave the room if someone else has a reservation for that room as shown on the door sign by the rooms.
  • A room can be reserved as soon as four hours in advance and up to one week in advance for up to 4 hours at a time, limit of 3 per week.
  • Rooms must be scheduled at least 4 hours in advance to prevent existing people in a room from being kicked out.
  • Room reservations must be during normal Mammel Hall building hours Mon-Thur 7 A.M. - 10 P.M. Fri 7 A.M. - 5 P.M. Sat 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. & Sun 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.
  • All breakout rooms may be used if they are vacant and not reserved; enter by swiping your MavCARD at the prox reader.
  • Person(s) in a breakout room must leave the room when it is scheduled for use by others.

Rules for Breakout Rooms:

  • The primary purpose of the Mammel Hall breakout rooms is for studying and academic activities.
  • No food or drink may be served in the rooms. Individuals may bring in food or drink for themselves.
  • No taping, attaching, or hanging paper or any other items to the walls, doors, windows, or screens.
  • Leave the room cleared and cleaned up when done. Use paper towels from restrooms if needed.
  • Move tables and chairs back to their original position in the room when you leave.
  • Log out of the computer and turn off the computer monitor in the room when done.
  • Do not plug any video cable into the monitor in the room. Use the existing cable near the floor or the Solstice Pod system (see instructions in the room)
  • Keep speaking and sound levels reasonable, nearby people may be studying.
  • Be considerate of room sizes, if you are an individual or two people use the smaller rooms first if available.

Want to reserve a breakout room? Here’s how:

  • Online (preferred) at - CBA Mammel Hall Breakout Room Reservations See instructions below.
  • Note: online reservations require a laptop or desktop computer, mobile is not available at this time.
  • Desktop computers are also available in the Mammel Hall 213 computer lab and the computer kiosks in South-West corner hallways on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors.
  • Visit CBA Operations (MH 217) or call 402.554.4109 during these hours:
  • Monday-Friday 8 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. the day before you want to reserve a room.
  • No in-person same-day reservations.

Instructions for Online reservations (laptop and desktop):

CBA Mammel Hall Breakout Room Reservations Instructions

  1. Click on ‘Welcome, Guest’ top right of page, then click on ‘Sign In’.
  2. Select your campus as ‘University of Nebraska Omaha’
  3. Login using your UNOmaha email address and password
  4. On the line that lists the MH breakout rooms: MH 155, 157, 214, 214 A,B,C, 245, 318 B,C,D,E, click ‘book now’
  5. Click on the Date icon then select the date you want to reserve a room.
  6. Click on the Start Time icon to select a start time (at least four hours from current day/time), do the same for the End Time icon.
  7. For most people the default Locations will be UNO – Mammel Hall
  8. Make sure the Let Me Search For A Room window is expanded by clicking on the arrow ^ next to that field.
  9. Enter a number in the ‘Number of People’ field, then click ‘Search’.
  10. You should then see a listing of ‘Rooms You Can Reserve’. If you don’t see any rooms make sure the time you selected is at least 4 hours from the current time and make sure the Favorite Rooms box is unchecked.
  11. Click the green plus sign + next to the room you want to reserve.
  12. In the window that pops up, confirm the number of Attendees, then click ‘Add Room’.

Note: if you see a message indicating the duration exceeds the reservation limits for a room, you need to adjust the request as per steps 5 through 10.

  1. Scroll up and click on ‘Next Step‘ at the top right of the window.
  2. Enter an ‘Event Name’ and include your last name as part of the event name.

Example: ‘Johnson study session’

Note: The Event Name will be public information so it must be educational or business appropriate and brief, otherwise the request will likely be deleted.

  1. Select your name for ‘Group’ NOT the College of Business Admin group.
  2. Other fields that are required * should be filled in, verify, and edit if needed the '1st Contact Email Address'.
  3. Click ‘Create Reservation’
  4. You should receive an email to the email address listed in the previous step confirming the registration. The reservation will also show on the door sign for the room on the day scheduled.
