Biography
Dr. Jamie Wagner is an Associate Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for Economic Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She teaches undergraduate economics courses, emphasizing the economic way of thinking helping students apply concepts to real-world situations. As Director of the Center for Economic Education, Dr. Wagner supports pre-service and K–12 teachers in the Omaha area by providing professional development workshops, developing curriculum, and offering individualized support to enhance economics and personal finance instruction. At the national level, she collaborates with the Foundation for Teaching Economics as a professor and curriculum writer. Her research focuses on economic education, pedagogy, financial literacy, and assessment, and has been published in The Journal of Economic Education, The Journal of Consumer Affairs, and The Journal of Economics Teaching, among others. Dr. Wagner also develops K–12 economics curriculum and has been nationally recognized by the National Association of Economic Educators for her work, including award-winning projects like Entrepreneurship in Your Community: Creating Your Own Career and Ethics, Economics, and Social Issues, and Beyond the Bet: Economics of Gambling. A dynamic and engaging speaker, she brings economic and financial literacy concepts to life through interactive simulations, discussions, and games.
