Cheryl A. Straub is Vice President of Business Research at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce. Associated with the Chamber since 1986, Ms. Straub oversees all activities of the Business Research Council, which provides information and statistics pertaining to the Omaha economy to individuals and businesses.

Ms. Straub and her department work closely with the Chamber's Economic Development Council, producing information to assist in marketing Omaha to prospective economic development clients locally and throughout the United States. Ms. Straub is also in charge of the Chamber's information systems and oversees all factors pertaining to its on-going day-to-day operations.

Prior to 1986, Ms. Straub worked in the market research departments of both Union Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Realty. At the Railroad, she produced industry strategy reports for the marketing and sales departments. At Upland, she undertook numerous market research projects involving commercial and industrial properties throughout the firm's 21-state territory.

Ms. Straub received a Master of Science in Economics from UNO in 1984. Her Bachelor of Science in Economics was awarded Summa Cum Laude from UNO in 1980. She was named 1994-95 Economics Alumna of the Year by the Department of Economics at UNO.

Ms. Straub is national President-Elect of AACRA, the American Chamber of. Commerce Researcher's Association. She is also a part-time consultant for ACCRA, overseeing and reviewing national cost of living survey data for cities in six states. Other memberships include the Nebraska Business and Economics Association and the American Chamber of Commerce Executives.

Other community involvement includes the UNO Economics Advisory Board and the Research Committee of the Greater Omaha Women's Fund. Ms. Straub, a Nebraska native, is married and has two children.
