EvaJon Sperling, Omaha Postmaster, began her postal career in 1972 as a part-time flexible clerk in Flint, Michigan, She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan-Flint in 1974 and was awarded an Executive MBA by UNO in 2000.

Sperling has worked in a variety of positions in the United States Postal Service. She has been in Omaha since January 1990 as a Director of Field Operations and a Manager of Post Office Operations prior to becoming Postmaster in 1995.

As the Postmaster of Omaha, Sperling is operationally and administratively responsible for 1,074 employees, working in 22 facilities. She oversees the collection and delivery of mail and customer functions for 239,761 deliveries, business and residential, serving 491,724 people, She oversees an operational budget in excess of $62 million a year and the collection of revenues in excess of $617 million per year.

In addition to her duties as Postmaster, Sperling serves as co-chair of the Omaha Postal Customer Council and the Metropolitan Omaha Postal Customer Advisory Council. She also serves as a board member of the United Way of the Midlands and Downtown Rotary Club of Omaha. She is a member of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee for the Combined Federal Campaign, the Federal Executive Association, and Omaha Network.

Sperling also is a member of the American Driving Society, the Eastern Nebraska Driving Society and competes in Combined Driving Events.
