Gustavo Oberto currently serves as managing director of global sales and markets for Conductix-Wampfler AG, a division of Delachaux S.A. Conductix-Wampfler is the world’s leading manufacturer of energy and data transmission systems for mobile industrial equipment. Oberto is responsible for overseeing $300+ million in company sales across three regions. Based in Omaha, Nebraska but working out of the company headquarters in Weil am Rhein, Germany, Oberto is responsible for driving growth across key industrial markets including ports, mining, cranes, automotive, intralogistics, transit, entertainment and e-mobility.

Oberto joined Conductix-Wampfler in 1999 and has more than 20 years of experience in international business development having travelled to more than 50 countries accumulating nearly three million air miles. Prior to his current role, Oberto was managing director of sales and markets region Americas where he led the geographic expansion into Mexico, Brazil and Latin America, including setting up manufacturing capabilities in Brazil.

Prior to joining Conductix-Wampfler, Oberto worked for Travelex Global Payments devising foreign currency hedging strategies for Fortune 500 companies. He also worked as international liaison to former Nebraska governor Ben Nelson, advising Midwestern companies on how to penetrate the Latin America agriculture market.

Oberto received his Executive MBA degree from UNO in 2005 and has served on its board of directors. He was president of Midwest International Trade Association and a member of Omaha Chamber of Commerce’s task advisory group for international business. In 2009, he was the recipient of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Distinguished Marketing Alumnus Award. In 2002, he led Conductix-Wampfler to achieve the MITA Exporter of the Year Award and the 2002 Iowa Governor’s Export Award. Oberto is currently a member of the U.S. Commercial Service district export council.
