Student Research and Creative Activity Funding Opportunities

FUSE and GRACA grants support faculty-mentored undergraduate and graduate student research and creative activity; applications open Sept. 15.

The Office of Research and Creative Activity has released guidelines for the 2021-2022 academic year internal funding programs, including the Fund for Undergraduate Scholarly Experiences (FUSE) and Graduate Research and Creative Activity (GRACA) programs.


FUSE vs. GRACA: What's the Difference?

FUSE awards up to $2500 per undergraduate student for faculty mentored research or creative activity projects

GRACA awards up to $5000 per graduate student for faculty mentored research or creative activity projects


Recent Changes to FUSE and GRACA Programs

Three important changes to FUSE and GRACA programs:

  1. Applications will now open on Sept. 15, 2021 for FUSE and GRACA.

  2. GRACA mentors now receive a $500 mentor award per student, up to $1000 across both FUSE and GRACA mentees. This award is intended to support the mentor’s scholarly activities.

  3. Undergraduate seniors graduating in Spring 2022 are now eligible to receive FUSE funding on an accelerated schedule. Applications from seniors are due in December and compliance approvals must be received in January. See the FUSE guidelines for details.
