A MavCARD is an essential part of campus life at UNO, providing access to services, facilities, and more. Follow these steps to get your MavCARD.
Instructions for Obtaining your MavCARD
To recieve a MavCARD, the following steps must be completed:
- Complete Human Resources new hire paperwork.
- Have an assigned NUID, NetID, and Personnel Number.
Get a MavCARD
Eligible faculty and staff can receive a MavCARD in person or request one online.
Eligibility is verified before a MavCARD is issued.
What You'll Need
Bring your NUID number and acceptable identification.
Acceptable Identification
The University requires a person’s photo and identity to be verified against an approved form of identification to issue a MavCARD.
Bring one government-issued photo ID, such as:
- Domestic or foreign driver’s license
- Military ID
- Domestic or foreign passport
- Other state- or government-issued photo ID with your photo and name.
Don't have a government-issued photo ID? Bring two of the following. One must include the cardholder’s name and photo:
- High school ID
- School yearbook with name and photo
- High school diploma
- Birth certificate
- Medicare or Medicaid card with name
- Permanent resident card
Identification must be the original, physical document. Photos, screenshots, and photocopies are not accepted.
Note: MavCARDs are not considered a legal form of identification and are not to be used for purposes outside of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Get a MavCARD In Person
Visit MavCARD Services in Milo Bail Student Center, Room 216, Monday–Friday from 8 A.M.–5 P.M.
- Bring your NUID and acceptable identification.
- Have a photo taken in the office or upload one in advance through the GET Mobile App.
- Once eligibility and identity are verified, your MavCARD will be printed during your visit.
Uploaded photos must meet MavCARD Photo Guidelines. Photos are manually reviewed by MavCARD Services staff and may take up to one business day to be processed.
Get a MavCARD Online
Eligible cardholders can request their first MavCARD online.
- Upload a photo through GET Mobile App and wait for approval.
- Complete the MavCARD Online Request Form.
- Choose to pick up your MavCARD at MavCARD Services or have it mailed to a U.S. address.
Uploaded photos must meet the MavCARD Photo Guidelines. Photos are manually reviewed by MavCARD Services staff and may take up to one business day to be processed.
Online requests generally take 5–7 business days to process. Mailing delivery times vary and are not guaranteed.
