In partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Office of Military and Veterans Serivces is honored to host the 2019 Veterans Stand Down on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 from 9 A.M. - 2 P.M. in the Milo Bail Student Center.
Stand Down provides Omaha’s homeless/homeless insecure Veterans access to VA Healthcare; legal and mental health; clothing; and other donated material goods.We are seeking 125 volunteers for this event. Minimum age to volunteer is 19 years old. Volunteers will be doing a lot of walking, standing, and asked to assist with carrying a duffel bag for clothing and other items. Volunteers work directly with Veterans to guide them to the various service and information providers’ booths.
Parking
UNO observes open parking in designated areas on Fridays. We suggest volunteers park in the East Parking Garage. VA will provide shuttles for those who prefer or unable to walk. Sign Up to Volunteer
