Parents: Study Abroad Process
Study Abroad Process
Planning a study abroad experience requires months of preparation, but the process doesn’t have to be completely overwhelming. We’re here to help your student understand all of the necessary steps. You can learn more about the steps your student will be taking and FAQs here.
Costs and Funding
It’s a common misconception that an international education experience has to be astronomically expensive. With careful planning, studying abroad doesn’t have to be a huge financial burden for students or their families. Learn more about how your student can ensure he or she is financially prepared here.
We know that safety is your top concern for your student, and it is our number one priority. There are many things that students can do to mitigate their risks and prepare for a safe experience abroad. Learn more about health and safety here.
If an emergency occurs, please contact the Education Abroad office as soon as possible. We will need your information, your student’s information, their location and program, and details of what has happened. If you need assistance outside of business hours, you will be redirected to UNO Public Safety, who can put you in touch with the after-hours emergency contact. Learn more about the emergency response process here.
