UNO Students Against Hunger (SAH) is developing an urban farm located on 40th and Charles, where we will be growing fresh produce to give to the UNO community to help combat food scarcity. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to get down and dirty for a good cause.
SAH will be having "1 Hour Service Saturday Events" from Sept. 5 through Oct. 24 where volunteers can sign up to volunteer at our urban farm for one or more (up to three) hours, from 11 A.M to 2 P.M.
Sign up will be available for every Saturday by the hour (11 A.M. to 12 P.M.; 12 to 1 P.M.; and 1 to 2 P.M.). Volunteers are only required to serve for one hour, but can sign up for back-to-back hours. In this case, the volunteer must fill out the form for each hour volunteered and must stay for that duration.
To adhere to social distancing best practices, we are only allowing up to six volunteers per hour and are asking that volunteers wear their mask for the duration of the event.
Volunteers must also provide their own water and gardening gloves as well as wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty.
