Students from UNO's Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity are partnering with The Salvation Army for the 15th annual Just Can It! — a food drive and homelessness awareness event to stock The Salvation Army’s food pantries.
UNO students will sleep outdoors in cardboard homes and accept donations of money and non-perishable food from Monday, March 26, through Friday, March 30.
Just Can It! kicks off with an opening ceremony on Monday, March 26, at noon at the Infiniti Lot of Baxter Arena, just off of West Center Road. The campaign ends Friday, March 30, with an evening concert in Stinson Park featuring "High Heel". The band will play from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
Items on the wish list include: cereal; canned stews and soups; canned vegetables; boxed mixes; canned meats; tomato products; boxed dinners and boxed/bagged rice products. Donations may be dropped off any time during the week in the Baxter Infinity Lot. The public can also support Just Can It by donating online at salarmyomaha.org.
