Facilitator: Craig Finlay | Registration Information
Description: Over the past three years, the Office of Digital Learning and UNO Libraries have awarded over 100 grants from their respective programs to UNO faculty and instructors to adopt Open Educational Resources and affordable content. This has resulted in collective savings of well above $1 million for UNO students. Several research studies have shown that adoption of these types of resources can increase student success and decrease DFW rates. Please join us to learn more about Open Educational Resources and affordable content and how you can apply for grants to implement them in your courses.
Designing Effective Group Projects in Online Courses
Date and Time: Tuesday, Feb. 1 | 2 - 3 P.M.
Facilitator: Marlina Davidson | Registration Information
Description: Participating in team projects offers students the chance to develop interpersonal communication skills, build relationships with classmates, and increase the level of collective competencies as each group member brings something different to the group. However, in the online environment where the majority of the work occurs asynchronously, students may resist having to work with others on graded assignments. Please join the Digital Learning team to learn more about designing effective group projects in online courses and keep students engaged.
