Several honors and awards are presented by the Chancellor during commencement ceremonies to recognize contributions of scholarship and creative activity, service, and/or financial support to UNO that have made a lasting impact on the institution. Please help us identify faculty, staff, and community supporters whose contributions to the university are worthy of recognition.

UNO Chancellor’s Medal
Nomination Deadline: Oct. 31.
The UNO Chancellor’s Medal is one of the ways that the university honors one of its own. This award recognizes extraordinary service to UNO by a faculty or staff member through scholarship, university service, research, or creative arts. Full-time faculty and staff are eligible.
Nominations are due by Oct. 31.
Honorary Degrees
Nomination Deadline: Oct. 31
Honorary doctoral degrees are for individuals who have attained achievements of extraordinary and lasting distinction through their service to the university, Nebraska, or to humanity or the community through public service. Retired faculty/staff, community members, supporters are eligible.
Nominations are due by Oct. 31 to Candice Batton at cbatton@unomaha.edu in Academic Affairs.
Order of the Tower
Nomination Deadline: Oct. 31
The Order of the Tower is awarded to individuals whose exemplary service and/or financial support have advanced the UNO mission. This award is the highest honor given to community leaders whose lasting gifts have left an indelible mark on the institution.
