Participants Sought for a Dual-Task Study at the Biomechanics Research Building.
Healthy subjects (older adults above 65 years of age) are needed to participate in a study taking place in the Biomechanics Research Building. The study is investigating the effects of everyday cognitive tasks on walking behavior. Ideal participants should be greater than 65 years of age, right-handed, native English speaking, free from any cognitive impairment and any significant walking difficulties.
Subjects would take part in three data collections that would involve a variety of tasks including walking, cognitive tasks (for instance, reading words or naming pictures projected on a screen, having conversations, etc). Data will be collected using the state-of-the-art laboratory-based motion capture system identical to the equipment used for motion picture special effects and video games. Collections will take place at a scheduled time during the next few weeks. Further details will be provided to any interested parties.
