On Saturday, Feb. 20, The Strategic Air & Space Museum will host the Seventh Annual Nebraska Robotics Expo. Over 800 K-12 Nebraska students, team leaders and math and science teachers will gather for this extraordinary robotics event that brings together two robotics competitions and the Creative Visual Arts Expo for a day of robotics inspiration in a historical venue.
The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is a proud partner of the event, with support coming from UNO's College of Education, and the University of Nebraska's Peter Kiewit Institute.
UNO and PKI faculty and staff organized the CEENBoT Robotics Showcase. CEENBoTs are programmable robots designed to perform certain tasks. This year's events all play off classic games, with the line-up including: Hungry Hungry CEENBoTs, Robot Operation, PacBots and Autonomous Hopscotch.
The CEENBoT Showcase will host more than 90 teams from 26 Nebraska elementary, middle and high schools.
A separate competition, the FIRST LEGO League, will host 48 teams.
Opening ceremonies will take place at 8:30am in the lower Atrium of the Strategic Air & Space Museum. The public is invited to attend, general museum admission applies.
