More than 15,300 Mavericks come from all over the U.S. and across continents for hands-on learning experiences at one of the best colleges in the U.S. and in a community where they will gain more than just a degree.

The UNO International Programs team nurtures global partnerships and provides the structure, curriculum, and programming for Maverick students and staff who study in the U.S. and abroad.  

Our work ranges from welcoming and guiding more than 600 enrolled international students from 70+ countries and helping students become proficient in English to training teachers in the Central and South Asian region and preparing native Nebraskans for a globally focused society. 

International Programs Areas of Focus

International Student Advising

International Programs manages International Student Advising for all incoming and current international students and scholars who choose to study in the U.S. at UNO.

English as a Second Language Programming

Intensive Language at UNO (ILUNO) is a student-centered English as a Second Language program. 

The International Professional Development (IPD) Program 

IPD helps businesses and individuals via alternative English language learning and professional development. 

Education Abroad

UNO International Programs Education Abroad office assists students in exploring their many options for overseas academic programs.

Global Partnerships

The UNO IP team works in Global Partnerships to maintain a sustainable framework for international exchanges among students and faculty.

Center for Afghanistan and Regional Studies

The Center for Afghanistan and Regional Studies is a primary cultural and scholarly link between Afghanistan and the U.S. to empower Afghans and provide positive economic and societal development tools.
