Once accepted to UNO, the next step is to request your Form I-20 or DS-2019 required to apply for your student visa.

Forms I-20 and DS-2019

A Form I-20 (for F1) or DS-2019 (for J1) is needed to:

  • Use the number on the Form I-20 or DS-2019 to pay the SEVIS fee.
  • Apply for your F or J visa at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
  • Travel to the U.S. for the first time.
  • Re-enter the U.S. after trips abroad.
  • Apply for a change of status by re-entry to the U.S. or application to the USCIS.
  • Show at the port of entry along with your valid passport and visa to enter as an F1 or J1.

Receiving Form I-20 or DS-2019 from UNO

Graduate, Undergraduate and IEP Students

Once you have been admitted to UNO, additional documentation must be submitted via iGlobal to request your Form I-20 or DS-2019.

Required documents include:

  • Valid Passport.
  • Completed Financial Affidavit Form.
  • Financial documentation showing proof of funding for at least one academic year for degree seeking students or one semester for the Intensive English Program (IEP)

Students transferring from another school in the U.S. with an active SEVIS record should complete the e-form to request a transfer Form I-20.

Students changing programs at UNO should complete the e-form to request a Form I-20 for your change of educational level.
