UNO Leads in Cross-Cultural Collaboration at Inaugural Kazakh-US Universities Consortium
The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) recently participated as a founding member in the inaugural meeting of the Kazakh-US Universities Consortium, hosted by the Institute of International Education (IIE). This new consortium brings together leading institutions from the United States and Kazakhstan, dedicated to fostering cross-cultural academic exchange and collaboration. With a shared mission to strengthen higher education partnerships, consortium members will engage in joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchanges, and co-development of academic programs. UNO’s involvement underscores its commitment to global engagement, expanding its reach into Central Asia, and creating meaningful educational opportunities for students and faculty alike.
UNO participates in the Kazakh-U.S. Universities Consortium founding members meeting in October in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Representing UNO, Louisa Ehrlich, Assistant Director of Global Partnerships, presented on one of the meeting’s panels, discussing best practices for implementing academic agreements. Her presentation highlighted effective strategies for building sustainable partnerships, aligning international agreements with institutional goals, and managing cross-cultural communication to ensure success. Drawing from her experience at UNO, she emphasized the importance of clear objectives, continuous support, and reciprocal benefits in partnerships to foster long-term success. Ehrlich’s contribution provided consortium members with valuable insights into the complexities of international agreements, enhancing the collaborative spirit that lies at the heart of the Kazakh-US Universities Consortium.
