Welcome to the School of Health and Kinesiology! Here are next steps and resources to help you prepare for your first semester.

Your To-Do List

You've enrolled! What should you do next before your first semester begins?

1. Check Out MavLink

MavLink will be your main source for everything related to your account at UNO, so be sure to check it often. Please familiarize yourself with my.unomaha.edu, as it provides quick links for all of the UNO systems (Canvas, MavCONNECT, email, etc).

2. Get Your MavCard

After you have enrolled for classes, it’s time to get your MavCard (student ID)! Visit MavCard Services website for instructions on how to upload a photo and get your card. You will need your MavCard to get access into the H&K building to attend class and the workout facilities.

3. Figure Out Parking & Transportation

Before the semester begins, it’s important to plan how you’ll get to campus each day. UNO offers a variety of parking garages, lots, and sustainable transportation options for commuting to, from, and between campuses. Visit the Parking Services website to explore your options and prepare for your transportation needs before classes start.

4. Become Familiar with the Academic Calendar

As a new student, keeping track of important dates and deadlines throughout the semester can feel overwhelming – especially when you’re still learning where to find everything. Luckily, the UNO Registrar website is your go-to resource for important academic dates, deadlines, and semester information all in one place.

5. Order Textbooks

Textbooks for the Fall semester typically go on sale in The Maverick Store starting in August. You can find the textbooks required for your class through MavLink – How to Buy Textbooks.

6. Figure Out Finances

Navigating paying for college can be overwhelming, but UNO has excellent resources to help you! Our office of Financial Support & Scholarship can answer your questions related to the FAFSA, scholarships & grants, loans, and more. We also have the office of Cashiering and Student Accounts that can answer questions related to tuition & fees, refunds, student bills & accounts, payment plans and past due balances.
