Student Awards and Scholarships

Every year, the School of Health and Kinesiology hosts a banquet to recognize the hard work and achievement of its students.

This year's banquet was held on Tuesday, April 23 in the Milo Bail Student Center Nebraska and Aksarben Rooms.

Helen B. Hewett Scholarship

The Helen B. Hewett Scholarship is an endowment shared by all three University of Nebraska campuses in memory of Helen B. Hewett. The scholarship is designated for undergraduates pursuing a Physical Education degree.

Moe and Irene Mellion Endowed Athletic Training Scholarship

This scholarship was established for students in the athletic training program in honor of the services and dedication of Moe Mellion, MD, a team physician at UNO for 19 years and his wife Irene.

The Ernie Gorr Scholarship is provided to an H&K undergraduate student in memory of Ernie Gorr, a long time UNO Recreation Faculty member. Ernie Gorr was a teacher and coach at Omaha University for more than 20 years and a Midwest Region National Parks and Recreation Award winner.
