Bachelor's Degree Admissions

All prospective music majors must audition in order to be admitted to the School of Music, with the exception of the Bachelor of Arts in Music Technology.

Ideally, these auditions take place in the fall or spring semester for students who will matriculate in the following fall semester. Students who plan on starting spring semester should perform their audition during the preceding fall semester. See audition requirements below for your instrument/area of study. The audition for admission into the School of Music will also serve as your scholarship audition.

To be considered for a music scholarship, you must declare a music major as your first major. Please make sure you have filled out the general University scholarship form and the subsequent music scholarship form.

Sign-up for the 2025 scholarship audition days is now closed.

To schedule an audition please reach out to Adam Hilt.

Please make sure to read the full audition requirements for your degree.

Bachelor of Music (B.M.)

Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.)

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) combines the same high-quality experiences of the Bachelor of Music degree with the flexibility of more electives and areas of concentration. This degree is a perfect fit for students who are seeking double majors in music and some other area and for the non-traditional music learner. It may fulfill the requirements for entrance into a Master of Music program; it does not provide preparation for teacher certification in music.

Music scholarships are awarded based on the audition, recommendations (if applicable), previous music experience or honors, and major area of performance/study.
