UNO Biomechanics Chair Named to AIMBE College of Fellows

Alexey Kamenskiy, Ph.D., professor and chair of biomechanics at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), has been inducted into the 2026 Class of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows, one of the highest professional distinctions in the field.
Election to the AIMBE College of Fellows places Kamenskiy among the top 2% of medical and biological engineers worldwide. The honor recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to research, practice, or education, as well as those advancing innovation in biomedical engineering.
Kamenskiy was nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows, recognizing his contributions to vascular biomechanics research, device development, and his broader impact on the field. As a faculty leader at UNO, Kamenskiy’s work focuses on understanding the mechanics of vascular disease and advancing technologies that improve patient outcomes. His research and leadership continue to elevate UNO’s presence in cardiovascular biomechanics and applied health sciences.
He was formally inducted during the AIMBE Annual Event on April 13, 2026, in Arlington, Virginia, alongside 175 members of the 2026 class.
