The University of Nebraska at Omaha's (UNO) Police and Public Safety Department is pleased to announce a significant upgrade to UNO’s emergency alert systems. The latest enhancement introduces RAVE Mobile Safety, a cutting-edge platform that replaces the former Omnilert system. This upgrade is a vital service providing critical alerts and notifications during emergencies and is now more robust and user-friendly for the entire campus community.

This seamless transition to the new alert system ensures that all UNO students, faculty, and staff will be automatically migrated, guaranteeing continued access to essential information regarding potential hazards, weather emergencies, and other critical situations. The upgraded service offers a comprehensive range of notification options, including text, phone, and email alerts.

To further enhance user experience, individuals now have the opportunity to update and customize their contact information directly through the new platform. While everyone associated with UNO was automatically included in the new system, users can simply add or modify contact details, ensuring accuracy and personalized notification preferences, including adding cell phone numbers and update changing email addresses.

Moreover, responding to the evolving needs of our campus community, we are thrilled to announce the imminent rollout of the App Armour mobile app. This additional safety feature will complement the new service, providing users with advanced safety functionalities on their mobile devices. App Armour is designed to empower individuals with even more tools to stay informed and take prompt action during emergencies.

Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief of Police, Charlotte Evans, emphasized the significance of the upgraded UNO Alert system, stating, "The new UNO Alert system, powered by RAVE, strengthens UNO’s ability to communicate with our campus community when it matters most. This service allows for critical communication with the public and provides individuals with the information needed to stay safe or take precautions during hazardous or emergency situations."

Diane Mack, Emergency Management Director, urged active participation, saying, "Having a robust emergency notification system is essential for advancing the safety of our campus, especially during emergencies that we hope won't happen but could be critical to life safety, such as an active shooter or armed intruder situation. If everyone will make sure their cell phone number is included in the RAVE system so they can receive UNO Alerts via text, they'll be in the safest position possible to receive information and take appropriate action."

Verify and Update Your Contact Information

To ensure you receive timely and accurate alerts, we encourage all members of the UNO community to verify and update their contact information in the new system today. Visit https://getrave.com/login/unomaha to log in and utilize the normal login procedures for UNO systems. Your proactive involvement contributes to the overall safety and well-being of our campus community. Thank you for your commitment to a safer UNO.
