Forbes Ranks UNO Among Top Employers Nationwide

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is ranked among the nation’s top employers, according to new rankings released by Forbes.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is ranked among the nation’s top employers, according to new rankings released today by Forbes.

UNO ranked second among mid-size employers in Nebraska and in the top 25% of mid-size employers nationwide at 101st out of 500. The university also ranked highly among other mid-size employers in education, earning sixth place in the country among other mid-size employers at both the K-12 and post-secondary education levels.

Each day, I have the privilege of working alongside hundreds of dedicated colleagues who do just that,” said UNO Chancellor Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA. “Ensuring that we take care of our employees and make UNO the best place to work directly impacts how well we take care of our students and make UNO the best place to learn and grow.”

Compensation at UNO goes beyond someone’s hourly or salaried wage. An employee’s total compensation package includes a variety of benefits provided by UNO and the University of Nebraska, including, but not limited to:

The rankings resulted from an online study conducted by Forbes and Statista. Respondents were asked to anonymously rate their employer on work-related topics including working conditions, salary, potential for development, and company image. A representative sample of approximately 60,000 employees nationwide anonymously responded to the survey.

Forbes defines mid-size employers as those with more than 1,000 but fewer than 5,000 employees.
