AWARD DESCRIPTION ELIGIBILITY Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award This award is presented to an undergraduate student research assistant who has demonstrated a high level of personal service. A Department-wide vote is completed at the end of the academic year. Student must be a research assistant in the Department. Outstanding Graduate Student Award This award is presented to a graduate student research assistant who has demonstrated a high level of personal service. A Department-wide vote is completed at the end of the academic year. Student must be a research assistant in the Department. University Honors Convocation Award This award is presented to one undergraduate student who displays a combination of outstanding scholastic achievement and demonstrated leadership on campus and in the community. The award is presented at the Honors Convocation and one is chosen by the Department Chair to compete with other College of Education recipients for the Dean’s Award. Dean’s award recipients from all colleges compete for the Vice Chancellor’s Award. - Faculty Nominated

Vaya Stergiou Distinguished Scholarship in Biomechanics The Vaya Stergiou Distinguished Scholarship in Biomechanics is a scholarship founded in honor of the Founding Chair’s mother, who was unable to pursue a college education herself, but worked tirelessly to ensure her children had the opportunity to receive a college education.
