University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) students, faculty, and staff now have a faster, more convenient way to grab meals on campus with the launch of Grubhub mobile pickup ordering at the Milo Bail Student Center on Dodge Campus.
The new service allows Mavericks to order ahead from popular campus dining locations, including the Food Court (Chick-fil-A, Qdoba, Erbert & Gerberts, and Culinary Corner) and Durango’s Grill, making it easier to skip the line and pick up meals on the go.
To celebrate the launch, Grubhub is offering a special promotion on the app: users can enjoy 50% off their first on-campus pickup order, up to $7, by using the code FIRSTBITE50.
How It Works
Getting started is simple. Users can download the Grubhub mobile app and connect to UNO’s campus dining system by navigating to the Account menu, selecting “Campus Dining,” and searching for the “University of Nebraska at Omaha.” Once set up, users can browse dining options, place orders, and pay directly through the app.
Users can even add their MavCARD within the app for seamless transactions. Students can use Dining Dollars, while faculty, staff and students can use MavMoney. Additional payment methods are also accepted.
Importantly, there are no fees when using the Grubhub app at participating on-campus dining locations, making it a convenient and cost-effective option for the Maverick community.
In addition to mobile ordering, self-service kiosks are also available in the Food Court, offering another convenient way to place orders on-site.
Why Sign Up?
Students are encouraged to create a Grubhub account and verify their email address and anticipated graduation date. Doing so unlocks additional perks and rewards, both on campus and at participating off-campus restaurants. It is important to note, there are no fees when using this application at on-campus dining locations.
New Culinary Corner Dining Option
In addition to mobile ordering, campus dining has introduced a new Culinary Corner feature, offering daily rotating meals for $14. Each meal includes a full entrée, sides, and a fountain beverage, providing a hearty, homestyle dining option for the campus community.
Menus rotate throughout April and feature a wide variety of flavors, including comfort classics and globally inspired dishes. Highlights include:
- Homestyle favorites like Chicken Pot Pie, Sloppy Joe Sandwiches, and Open-Faced Hot Turkey Sandwiches
- Global cuisine such as Chicken Tagine, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and General Tso’s Chicken
- Hearty entrées including BBQ Beef Brisket, Beef Goulash, and Garlic Parmesan Chicken
- Pasta and comfort dishes like Spaghetti with Meatballs and Tortellini with pesto cream cheese
- Fresh sides and salads including Moroccan Couscous Salad, Apple Jicama Salad, Chickpea Mint Salad, and Edamame Caviar Salad
Menus change daily from April 1 through April 30, giving students, faculty, and staff new options to look forward to each week.
Important Reminder for Students
As the semester comes to a close, students should note that Dining Dollars will expire on Friday, May 8. Now is the perfect time to take advantage of both the new Grubhub ordering system and Culinary Corner offerings to use remaining balances.
Note: Purchases made through the Grubhub app, kiosks, or Chick-fil-A ordering systems may appear as Grubhub transactions on bank or credit card statements. There are no additional or hidden fees for using Grubhub at participating campus dining locations.
