Mavericks,
As this year comes to a close, I want to wish you a restful holiday season and share my deepest thanks for making 2025 so memorable and meaningful.
To our students: Thank you for betting on yourselves, believing in your potential, and investing in your future. Your energy, your curiosity, and your ambition make our community better.
To our staff: Thank you for continuing to serve as the foundation our mission stands on. Our teaching, learning, working, research, and community engagement is made possible because you show up each day with passion and care.
To our faculty: Thank you for empowering a new generation of learners and conducting research that creates meaningful impact in our community, our state, and across the nation.
I want to remind you that many campus resources will be available during the holiday closedown.
Faculty and staff can utilize our Faculty and Staff Employee Assistance Program (FSEAP), or enjoy the benefits of our services offered by Campus Recreation and Wellness with free access from Jan. 2-16. Faculty and staff enrolled in the UNO health insurance plan can utilize Blue365 Wellness for discounts on health-related services.
Students, you have support services available as well, including Wellness Coaches and Resources managed through Campus Recreation and Wellness. If you need mental health support during the holiday, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) can be reached 24/7.
Finally, all students, faculty, and staff can utilize the Nebraska Medicine UNO Health Center many other resources aimed at supporting your wellness, as well as take advantage of the Durango Discount program through with your MavCARD.
I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together this year. But I’m even more excited for what’s ahead in 2026.
Thank you for being a part of this journey and making UNO the special place it is.
Sincerely,
Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA
