UNO Names Mason Hatfield Employee of the Month, December 2023

Mason Hatfield, Senior Graphic Designer in the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications (MarComm), has been named UNO Employee of the Month for December 2023. Hatfield was recognized by his colleagues for his expertise, collaborative spirit, and sense of humor.

"Over the past five years, Mason has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, creativity, and a commitment to excellence in his role as a Senior Graphic Designer on the MarComm team. Not only has Mason consistently gone above and beyond the expectations of his position, but he meets project requirements and consistently exceeds them, contributing to the overall success of our creative team," one nominator said. "His exceptional design skills and keen eye for detail in the UNO brand have significantly elevated the quality of our visual content, leaving a lasting and positive impression on campus and in the Omaha Community. Mason's open-mindedness and collaborative spirit have significantly contributed to the success of numerous projects."

Hatfield's colleagues also praise his willingness to collaborate and his ability to make others laugh.

"He willingly shares his knowledge and expertise with other designers and offers ideas to continue moving projects and events forward, fostering a positive and supportive work environment. His collaboration also supports each unit within the MarComm team, making him an asset on all projects. This collaboration has strengthened the overall cohesion of the team. Mason also brings a sense of humor to the MarComm team that is very appreciated during long and intense projects, event days, and general sense of togetherness when the team needs it the most."

His forward-thinking approach allows him to shift from project to project as needed and support his teammates. "This adaptability has been used to take the UNO name and image to the next level across all levels of campus, the system, and the community," the nominator said.

For being named as Employee of the Month, Hatfield will receive a certificate, a hot/cold tumbler provided by the UNO Bookstore, a monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space.
