Jessica Swisher, senior academic advisor in the College of Public Affairs and Community Service (CPACS), has been named the 2023 Academic Advisor of the Year. She received her framed certificate and $500 award at the Faculty Senate/Staff Advisory Council/Academic Advising Council Banquet on April 24.

Swisher’s nominators describe her as an advisor that is an amazing problem-solver and fierce student advocate. One of her student nominators shared that “every single interaction that Jessica and I have is rooted in support, balance, and total dedication." Multiple nominators mentioned that she is deeply committed to success of her students and fellow academic advisors. One colleague said that the number of times Swisher has helped them with a complicated issue or question is "too many to count."
